European Commission officials toured Dublin in recent weeks, meeting farming interest bodies to quell objections to the Mercosur trade deal, in one more push to get the agreement signed and delivered. Trade officials from the Commission met with several agricultural stakeholder groups, including the Irish Farmers’ Association, to answer questions about the contentious trade deal and its impact on the farming sector.
