Carlyle Aviation Partners, the Irish-headquartered aircraft lessor, has locked horns with embattled African carrier Air Sénégal. Three Irish-registered Carlyle Aviation entities have filed legal action in a New York court against Air Sénégal over unpaid fees spanning more than a year for aircraft leased by the Irish firms to the airline. According to Carlyle’s complaint, Air Sénégal’s failure to make lease payments started in February 2024 and was followed by several grounding notices by the lessor that weren’t heeded.
