Irish homes rely on fossil fuels for heating to a much greater extent than those in the rest of Europe. Now, a new Renewable Heat Obligation is set to rebalance this. In Denmark, more than 50 per cent of home heating is fueled by renewable sources. The EU average is 25 per cent.
