Chinese tech giant Huawei has seen a ramp up in revenue for its cloud business booked through Ireland. The telecom equipment maker set up an Irish subsidiary in 2021 for its Huawei Cloud business called Sparkoo Technologies Ireland Co. Limited. In 2022, Huawei, with IDA Ireland, announced it was setting up its first European cloud hub in Dublin with a €150 million investment and plans for 200 jobs by 2027.
