The High Court has dismissed billionaire businessman John Magnier’s claim that a legally binding handshake agreement was made with the trustees of the Barne Estate to buy the 751-acre estate in Co Tipperary in the long-running, multi-million-euro legal saga.  The bloodstock magnate claimed that the Thomson-Moores, the hereditary heirs and beneficial owners of the estate, agreed to the sale of the property when they shook hands on a €15 million agreement at his home in Coolmore on the evening of August 22, 2023.
