A company controlled by Bain Capital has filed an appeal with Dublin City Council in a bid to have the site of the former Smurfit paper mill in Clonskeagh removed from the vacant site levy net for 2024. The levy was introduced in a bid to cut down on derelict sites. Sites on the list must be zoned for residential purposes and lie vacant for at least one year before going on the list.
