The opening of the M6 motorway from Kinnegad to Galway in 2009 was the impetus for GoBus, the first non-stop motorway coach service in Ireland, to begin operating between Galway, Dublin and Dublin Airport.  Founder Jim Burke, now aged 70, started out in his family’s transport business in the 1970s and later set up his own school bus and private coach hire business which he sold to a multinational in the early noughties.
