In the early 1990s, British entrepreneur Mike Parsons was dismayed when he went out to find quality care for his elderly relatives. It was this experience that spurred him to open a care home of his own, buying up Moreton Hill, a 17th-century farm in the idyllic countryside of the Cotswolds in England. By 1994, Moreton Hill was operational and had won an award for its design.
