The social media giant X has launched a judicial review against Coimisiún na Meán over the media watchdog’s handling of a series of complaints around user content, including alleged abuse aimed at female chess players. The platform, owned by tech billionaire and free-speech exponent Elon Musk, is looking for High Court orders quashing CnaM’s decision to refer certain complaints to an internal supervisory team for further assessment, on grounds that the regulator acted in breach of its powers and fair procedures.
