Revenue at the Irish arm of Dutch chip firm ASML has swelled to over €1.2 billion as demand for chips and geopolitical tensions grow around the technology. ASML builds highly in-demand printing machines for designing the most sophisticated semiconductors. Its extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines are unique in the market, which has placed it at the centre of the industry. The company has a base in Kildare where it employs about 150 people and effectively serves just one client in Ireland: Intel.
