A company behind a proposed Ipas centre for asylum seekers in Palmerstown, Dublin, spent €17 million refurbishing the property before the State unexpectedly withdrew from the contract last year, it is claimed. The company, Palmerstown Temporary Accommodation Ltd (PTAL), has alleged in court proceedings that a works contract for the building was agreed with the minister for children on July 22, 2024, for 64/65 Cherry Orchard Industrial Estate to be used as temporary accommodation by the State.
