Belfast-based solicitor Darragh Mackin has accused businessman Denis O’Brien of making “sinister” and “dangerous” comments about him, by allegedly claiming a report he co-authored on media ownership in Ireland had been paid for by the IRA. “I act for all sides,” the human rights solicitor told the jury. “Many people may not appreciate the nuance of that but the North remains quite a divided place,” he said. “People tend to stay within their silos.
