An investment company controlled by businessman Dr Joe Elias is putting Meathamatic, a company building a housing development in Co Meath, into liquidation. Spudmuckers Ltd, the Elias company, is owed an estimated €5 million to €7 million in relation to the development of 16 houses. Meathmatic agreed to the sale of 14 of the 16 houses to families in 2021 at a set price. However, the price of construction then surged, leaving a gap of up to €1 million between the price all the houses were to be sold for and the cost required to complete the development in 2023. …
