As France softens some of its language on the EU-Mercosur trade deal, Ireland finds itself under mounting pressure to accept the concessions that have been made to the bumper trade pact. That’s according to officials in the European Commission who are hoping for a final sign-off before Christmas on the free trade agreement, which has been more than 25 years in gestation.
