Charter Medical Group is planning further expansion in Ireland, as the fast-growing, privately-owned provider of healthcare services embarks on a €50 million investment in its hospital in Ballinderry, Mullingar, Co Westmeath. Founded by medical entrepreneur John Gallagher, the Charter Medical Group acquired St Francis Private Hospital in Mullingar in 2020, before rebranding it as the Charter Medical Private Hospital. Last week, it announced plans to hire 100 more people in its facility in Mullingar next year, followed by another 100 new jobs in 2027, taking its team in the midlands to 500.
