Tipperary County Council has granted planning permission to a company controlled by the Magnier family’s Coolmore business for a new housing development on land in Clonmel, Co Tipperary amid significant opposition from nearby residents. Planning files show Melclon Unlimited was granted permission last week for a 96-unit residential build, as well as a childcare facility on a 7.7 acre site just outside of Clonmel. Melclon is one of several subsidiaries sitting under Galzant Unlimited, a central holding structure in the Coolmore operation.
