The City of Dublin Education and Training Board (CDETB) has written off €1.15 million paid on an “overly complex” IT project for the national student grant system run by the board. The body’s newly released financial accounts for 2024 show that problems developed during the first phase of a project to upgrade the processing system for the Student Universal Support Ireland (Susi) grant programme operated by CDETB for the whole country.
