The commission overseeing the running of the Oireachtas has settled a legal case it brought against the Data Protection Commissioner (DPC) in a bid to quash an enforcement notice the watchdog served on it over its handling of a subject access request. In March 2024, members of the commission, chaired by the Ceann Comhairle, approved the initiation of legal proceedings against the DPC. The case was listed for hearing at the Dublin Circuit Court.
