An interim examiner was appointed to East Coast Bakehouse, the Drogheda-based biscuit manufacturer, late Wednesday evening. Barrister Stephen Brady, instructed by the law firm Dentons, made the application to appoint Kieran Wallace, an accountant with Interpath, as interim examiner after 5 pm on Wednesday.  Mr Justice Michael Quinn heard the application, which outlined why the business required the protection of the courts, before granting East Coast Bakehouse’s application. The decision to appoint an examiner comes after East Coast Bakehouse reduced net losses to €2.2 million for the year ending February 2024, following a loss of €5.2 million the previous year. …
