At his funeral this Wednesday in a packed St Patrick’s Church in Monkstown, South County Dublin, John Purdy was remembered not only as a groundbreaking entrepreneur, but as a husband, father, uncle and friend who was missed deeply by those around him. His nephew Marc Murphy, the chief executive of Irish unicorn Fenergo, spoke movingly. So too did his wife Audrey, who backed her husband in founding Ergo and in helping to spin off Fenergo.   “John was an inspirational guy with an inspirational story. It is a trailblazing story.
