An Coimisiún Pleanála has refused permission to a Healy-Rae company to continue work at a Co Kerry quarry over concerns with potential environmental impacts and “unauthorised” piping of a watercourse which allowed it to expand the quarrying site.   The heritage charity, An Taisce, filed the appeal case in May 2024 after the local authority granted Sunville Construction Ltd retention permission to retain an expanded site at Rossacroo Quarry and to continue processing already quarried rock.  Sunville’s directors are Johnny and Daniel Healy-Rae, both sons of Danny Healy-Rae.
