Dublin-based Allergan Pharmaceuticals International Ltd has made $11.6 billion (€9.8 billion) available for distribution to its parent AbbVie Manufacturing Management Unltd, a key company handling the US pharmaceutical multinational’s interests in Ireland. Allergan Pharmaceuticals International is separate from the company operating the well-known Allergan factory in Westport, Co Mayo, which makes products including Botox. Allergan Pharmaceuticals International is primarily an intellectual property holding company, which holds rights to exploit and develop the technology behind a range of drugs in the AbbVie group through contracts for manufacturing and commercial activities with related companies.
