The Crawford Art Gallery on Emmett Place in the historic centre of Ireland’s second-largest city is undergoing a major €93 million transformation. The Exchequer-funded project will increase space in the Cork gallery by 50 per cent. This includes a new five-storey extension to the protected structure and an additional rooftop gallery. The tender process for the ambitious project was concluded in 2024 and the gallery shut its doors that autumn.
