Tusla, the state agency in charge of children in care, has again increased payments to private residential services providers to the benefit of both established and new companies, new data shows. Some €277.9 million in payments was captured in purchase orders over €20,000 for services outsourced under section 58 of the Child and Family Agency Act, new data published by the agency shows. This included €262.4 million for the residential provision of care to Irish-resident children, and €15.5 million for the accommodation of separated children seeking international protection.
