Alan Linn is sitting in the music room of his home in the townland of Carrignamuck, just north-west of Dripsey village, about 20 kilometers outside Cork city. Linn and his family have painstakingly restored the property, which is made up of an original house built in the 16th century before a new larger property was built around it in the 17th century. The music room is part of the oldest section of the house. One of its walls is made out of peat, which required delicate work to keep intact and protect.
