The €1 billion deal announced today between Eddie O’Connor’s Mainstream Renewable Power and Aker Horizons – a subsidiary of €4.4 billion Oslo-listed Aker – is even bigger than it first looks. O’Connor, whose 57 per cent stake in the business is valued at €570 million under the terms of the deal, told The Currency that he is hopeful that Mainstream will float on the stock market within as little as 18 months.
