An action being taken by the deputy official assignee in bankruptcy of the businessman Alistair Tidey in relation to the purported transfer of assets to his wife Janey has been settled. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed in the Commercial Court this morning in a case heard by Justice David Barniville. The action had been taken in December 2020 by Denis Ryan, the deputy official assignee, who claimed in court previously that assets had been transferred between the Tideys in a “sham” manner designed to put them beyond the reach of Alistair Tidey’s creditors.
