IBRC has settled, mid-trial, its multi-million debt action against former Anglo Irish Bank executive Tom Browne, putting an end to a long-running and rancorous internecine legal row. Under the terms of the deal put before the Commercial Court this morning, judgment in the sum of €30 million has been entered against Browne, the former head of wealth management at the bank. The court was told the counterclaim made by Browne, in which he sought damages against the bank over its handling of his loans, could be struck out.
