Between April 26 and May 7, Khaled Sakr held a series of virtual meeting with senior politicians, civil servants, central bankers and representatives of industry. Sakr is the International Monetary Fund’s point man on Ireland, and he was leading the fund’s Irish mission. The written results of the meetings, published today, explore a range of issues and make a host of recommendations – from increasing taxes to transitioning Ireland towards a green economy and helping get more women into the workforce by prioritising affordable childcare.
