The parties agree on one thing, this will be a hotly contested case. The phrase came up not once but twice in today’s Commercial Court hearing. But there was little else to agree on – at least at this early stage – including as to how best to proceed. Former Davy partner David Shubotham’s lawyers say the shareholder oppression suit against the directors and shareholders of Oviedo is a matter of great urgency. Some of the defendants don’t seem so sure. In fact, a couple mentioned they may ask the court in the future to have the case struck out…
