The funeral listings website RIP.ie is up for sale. Negotiations with a selected bidder are said to be at a very advanced stage. But there is a fly-in-the-ointment for the owners Jay and Dympna Coleman, an allegedly “speculative” legal claim from an ex-business associate asserting a 20 per cent interest in the website. RIP’s owners say the legal action, which comes on foot of a 2008 contract, could jeopardise the sale.
