Among the mergers and acquisitions notifications routinely published by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), the one published this week regarding “the acquisition by Nissan Ireland Ltd of sole control of Autolease Fleet Management Ltd” stands out.  When two companies operating in the same industry merge, they must clear their plans with the competition watchdog before the deal can conclude.
