By any standard, Patrick Rainsford has experienced both the high and the lows of business. Back in 2001, he ranked as one of the country’s richest men, selling a company he co-founded with his long-time business partner Peter Conlon for €102 million. MVT developed optical inspection tools for electronics manufacturing companies and was sold to Agilent Technologies in an all-cash deal. And this was only part of his portfolio. eMuse, an advertising technology company he founded before the MVT deal, was being touted as the next big thing.
