Sundew, a Copenhagen-based aquaculture health firm, has announced the acquisition of Irish start-up MicroSynbiotiX and the completion of a €1.4 million funding round led by Dublin-based ag-tech venture capital investor The Yield Lab Europe. MicroSynbiotiX develops technologies to enable the mass delivery of health benefits to farmed fish, such as vaccines against certain viruses in shrimp. Its research into harnessing genetic material from algae complements Sundew’s business in combating pests and diseases using biological approaches.
