On Friday, the Daily Telegraph’s latest story about Downing Street parties – without Boris Johnson present – on the eve of Prince Philip’s funeral seemed to add another explosive element to the car. Soon, Downing Street was apologising to the Queen which would seem to be the point when a politician reaches the end of the road.
