On June 10, the Labour Court made a recommendation to Arrabawn, the dairy farmers’ co-op headquartered in Nenagh, Co Tipperary, and its staff of around 400, represented by Siptu. The two sides have been locked in a dispute over proposed changes to redundancy terms agreed 18 years ago. The court heard that current arrangements guarantee any redundant worker will get 6.5 weeks of pay per year of service, inclusive of statutory provisions, with no cap applicable.
