Lonely Planet recently took a cold, hard look at Dublin – and the international travel publisher did not like what it saw. On a recent post on its website, it warned prospective visitors that “soaring hotel costs are wreaking havoc with holidaymakers’ budgets” and highlighted rising costs in the capital. “Dublin is a notoriously expensive city and the cost-of-living crisis is continuing to fuel price hikes across everyday goods and services,” it said.
