On Monday, the last day of an unprecedented heatwave in Ireland, the cafeteria of Altada is quiet. The view from the Lapps Quay building overlooks the River Lee, itself calm. Allan Beechinor greets me warmly. He wears a black t-shirt emblazoned with the words “artificial intelligence”. Tattoos creep out from underneath its sleeves.
