It’s unlikely that Mary Lou Mc Donald has the time for such gestures. But in an ideal world, the Sinn Féin leader would dispatch a “sorry for your troubles” note to the British Prime Minister Liz Truss and the Chancellor she sacked earlier on Friday. The Truss-led government is reeling from the avalanche of pain and embarrassment they’ve brought upon it. For Sinn Féin and all those who watch the exercise of power from the opposition benches, regularly providing criticism and advice, the meltdown in London is a salutary lesson.
