MCM Engineering, a specialist pharmaceutical and data centre engineering firm, has rescued a boutique rival from examinership, a deal that many feel will be replicated amid an anticipated wave of consolidation within the industry. Carlow-based MCM, which is owned by businessman Noel Monaghan, took complete control of Tyrell Air yesterday, months after the company was forced to seek bankruptcy protection from the courts after running into financial difficulties.
