Law firm Ogier Leman has commenced legal proceedings against Ramona and Canice Nicholas, the co-founders of Cara Pharmacy Group, as part of a dispute about fees. The pharmacy chain became insolvent in 2020 during the first year of the pandemic prompting its main lender, the finance house DunPort, to petition the High Court to install Ken Tyrell of PWC as examiner. Cara employed 245 people in 12 pharmacies at its peak and Ramona Nicholas had a high media profile as a former dragon on RTE’s Dragon Den.
