Working in a London investment bank, Deirdre McGettrick became conscious that the men she was working with were actively seeking out ways to generate wealth through investing, whereas her high-net-worth female co-workers were not.  The men she worked with had investment clubs and access to networks, which didn’t exclude women, but by their nature didn’t include them either.
