Airborne Capital, an Irish-based aircraft lessor based in Shannon, is being sued for $50 million by a Canadian airline for the alleged “unlawful” seizure of four aircraft and “inducing breach of contract and conspiracy”, as tensions between the two parties boil over in the Ontario’s courts. Flair Airlines, a low-fare challenger in the Canadian market, has been at odds with the lessor for months as it fell behind on its payments, which Airborne now claims amount to millions of dollars.
