The ex-chair of Independent News & Media Leslie Buckley has failed to stop PR consultant and former business journalist Rory Godson from pursuing a lawsuit against him and the publisher over alleged data hacking. Godson, the founder of Powerscourt communications, initiated a privacy action against INM and Buckley in 2020 but the original summons “fell through the cracks” and was never delivered to the defendants due to “human error” on the part of Godson’s solicitors Ahern Rudden Quigley.
