Coming from a strong marketing background, Stephen Kent’s main objective in his role as chief executive of Bus Éireann is customer growth.  The state-owned company posted losses of €1.6 million in 2021 and it’s expected its 2022 accounts, soon to be published, will be similar.  This is a recovery of sorts from 2020 when Covid-19 restrictions locked down the travel economy and Bus Éireann lost €9.2 million.  Now firmly out of the pandemic era, the company needs to fulfil its commercial mandate and chart a path back to profitability through a period of increasing costs and necessary capital investment.  Over…
