A property vehicle for the Comer Brothers has failed in a bid to overturn a decision from Galway City Council to include its prime redevelopment site on the old Dublin road in the city’s residential-zoned land tax net. The 2.66-hectare site, which formerly housed the now demolished Corrib Great Southern Hotel, is co-owned by Trigo Property Company Ltd, part of the Comer Property Group, and the McHale Group’s Welcorrib Ltd.
