The Dublin Port Company has appealed a demand from Dublin City Council to stump up €840,000 in unpaid payments under the vacant site levy. The local authority is chasing up the levy for three years between 2020 and 2022 for the company’s Polefield site at the junction of East Road and East Wall Road in Dublin 3. The one-acre brownfield site has been on the council’s vacant site register since May 2018. The company lodged appeals at the start of November in three separate filings to An Bord Pleanála.
