That is what made the recently aired footage of Ronan O’Gara delivering a compelling team talk to his La Rochelle squad so interesting. The address, a fluent mix of French and English laden with expletives and delivered in a distinctive Cork accent, provided a striking insight into his coaching style. “Je m’en fucking fous d’adversaire,” O’Gara declared, essentially dismissing any preoccupation with the opposition, and emphasising the massive opportunity at hand with “L’opportunité est fucking énorme”. …
