“Be yourself,” the saying goes, “everyone else is taken.” I had the good fortune to travel to Nepal for work last month and I am happy to report that Nepal very much does things its own way. It passes some easy thresholds: in addition to its own language, it also has its own alphabet. But that’s just the start – it is also the only country in the world to have a flag that isn’t rectangular. And its time zone is, at five hours and 45 minutes ahead of UTC, most certainly unique. Oh, and it has its own calendar…
