Just days before Christmas, Mitsubishi Electric, one of the arms of the Japanese multinational, announced a tidy acquisition in Ireland. Crystal Air is an air-conditioning installation and maintenance company that has operated for nearly 30 years, building various types of ventilation systems. The Co Kildare company serves multiple sectors (including air conditioning at the K Club) but nowhere has its technology become more essential than in the data-centre sector.
